Homework: Create an  online account for your literature book: Classzone.com, grade 7 Literature Book, McDougal Littell.  Online book access code 4726324-30 to use after you create your account.

Seventh Grade packet is due on Tuesday. Newspaper articles and summaries (3) are also due on Tuesday.

Homework- If you did not finish Writing Task #2, writing a letter to the principal, please do it tonight.

Newspapers: Please cut out three (3) newspaper articles from the Boston Globe and write at least a three (3) paragraph summary for EACH. A paragraph has to have at least five (5) sentences. If it does not have five sentences, you will not get credit.
Newspapers are due Tuesday September 25.

 4 PAGES TYPED INCLUDING A COVER PAGE
 USE MLA FORMAT (ONE INCH MARGINS ON ALL SIDES, SIZE 12 FONT, TIMES NEW ROMAN STYLE FONT, DOUBLE SPACED)
 DUE NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 11, 2012

A.    Write a paragraph of introduction (tell something about yourself)
B.     What does life mean to you (what’s important to you)
C.    What is your outlook for the future
D.    Major/Important events in your life
E.     Write a conclusion paragraph



a)    Introduction – please include where you were born, live now and about your family (parents, brothers, sisters ect.), if your family is not from the United States, please include that as well.
b)   Life – educational experiences things you like, hobbies and thoughts about the important people in your life
c)   Outlook – What do you want to do in the future, what do you need to do to achieve your goals. Be specific!
d)   Events – meaningful events in your life, births/deaths or travels
e)    Conclusion – bring things to closure, add any final thoughts or ideas that you didn’t already include, if you want to include pictures, they can only be on the cover or a separate page at the end (appendix).

Newspaper Articles

Newspaper articles: Please use the Boston Globe given in class to find three (3) articles to cut out (NOT SPORTS OR ENTERTAINMENT). Write at least a three (3) paragraph summary on EACH article, including why you think it is important. All work is to be put into your newspaper binder.

Weekend Homework

Homework:

Please review the summer reading book for the Writing Prompt Test on Monday and Tuesday. You may use your graphic organizer you created for the book Ender's Game.
Rough draft will be collected on Monday, and returned on Tuesday. Rough draft, final draft and graphic organizer will be passed in on Tuesday.

Welcome to the O'Bryant family. I am pleased to be your grade seven English teacher for the 2012/2013 school year.
We are going to have a very exciting academic year.
In class today I gave the list of things needed for class;

2.  One composition notebook
3.  Pocket dictionary/thesaurus
4.  Blue/black ink pens
