Information - We have a field trip on Wednesday to see the movie "42". On Thursday in class you will write an essay comparing the movie with the two stories we read in class about Jackie Robinson.

Information - Next week all grade seven students will be taking MCAS for ELA. Tuesday will be Composition, Wednesday and Thursday will be Reading Comprehension. Please get plenty of rest and review the packet of MCAS questions from 2012 over the weekend.

Homework - Integrity Reflection, please turn in your reflection to me as well as your home room teacher. This will count as 500 points towards a homework grade.

Information - I have re-set the due date for the Harlem Renaissance paper so that  students who need to revise their paper may do so, without penalty. The new due date is March 6, 2013. Students who did not turn in a paper are able to turn one in for reduced credit.

Information - Due to the fact that the Turnitin account still has not been paid, it is impossible to up-load any papers at this time. I will re-evaluate the situation on Monday and let you know what the new date will be for all papers that are due.

Information - The test that was scheduled for Monday will be given on the next day we have school.

There also seems to be something wrong with Turnitin.com account, it is stating all of my accounts are expired. I have contacted the school personnel who are responsible to see what they can do to rectify the problem.

The Giver

The Giver - Review the nine (9) Writing Topics for The Giver, pick three (3) and follow the directions for each.
If you pick number 4, the descriptive paragraph has to be at least four paragraphs, the poem has to be at least three (3) stanzas.
All of the rest have to be at least five (5) pargraphs.
These are due on February 13 to be up-loaded to turitin,com. Each is to up-loaded separately; Number 1, Number 2, and Number 3.

Homework - Continue to work on gathering information for your research paper; Harlem Renaissance. Make sure you make a source card for each resource you use. This will be helpful in creating your Works Cited page.

Test on Monday - Final Exam for The Giver on Monday, this test is equal to five (5) tests.

 (http://crls.cpsd.us/library/library) and go to The CRLS Research Guide, click on Making Source Cards. Review how to make a source card for all of the websites you used for your Harlem Renaissance paper that was passed in January 4. Make a source card for each of the sites used to help with your Works Cited page for your final paper which is due February 25.
Source cards will be due January 23.
